morale

Of the three main states that can be applied to a ship, Morale is arguably the most niche and least impactful.
On its surface, Morale improves piercing stats (how much damage is directly applied to the target) by 10%.
This does not, unfortunately, mean it is a 10% increase to damage but rather an increasingly marginalized boost to how much of the damage is applied.
Where Morale does have application is for activating officer and ship abilities that require it.
Most often, that ability is shield regeneration, where each round an amount of shield damage is repaired. If shields are still up, your ship will likely last a little longer in battle. Shield regen is a staple in G3 play (Ops26-41) where overall shield health is low compared to the damage dealt by hostiles and armadas.
After reaching G4 shields become stronger and Morale begins to fall off as an important state. The Enterprise, an Epic G3 ship available at Ops34, natively regenerates shields when Morale is active.
By the time a player reaches Ops38, their bonuses to piercing can exceed 1500%, so with Morale active that number becomes 1510%. It’s quite the let down.
Morale Officers

There are many officers that can trigger Morale, but the big ones are Kirk, Alexander Marcus, and Harry Kim.
Harry Kim
PVE Only
- Harry Kim only works against Hostiles and Armadas and is ineffective at tiers below 4.
- If your Kim is T3 or lower, use Kirk.
- Kim can be sourced in Artifacts/Complex Nanotech claim, Ex-Borg officer exchange, and Augment faction
Kirk
PVE/PVP
- Kirk is the top choice for Morale against all targets.
- He is easily sourced in the federation recruit tokens, can be unlocked freely with the redeem code KIRK, and is available in the premium & ultra recruit tokens.
Marcus
PVE/PVP
- Alexander Marcus is the least favorable as he must be in the Captain’s seat to activate Morale and his ability requires you take damage before Morale can trigger.
- He can be sourced in the premium and ultra recruit tokens.
Spock’s officer ability regenerates shields when morale is active.
