The weekly news, nonsense, and important shit you should probably know.

Everybody Found the Buttons

SUGR Dawgs gleefully pushing glowing control buttons on a space-station bridge.

There has been a suspicious amount of button-pushing around here.

Crypt0 entered G7! 🎉

Kel hit Ops 72! 🎉

Op apparently discovered a button last week and has not stopped pressing it since.

Slip is pushing buttons too.

Buildings. Research. Ships. Things glowing. Numbers going up.

We’re all just standing back and letting it happen.

Welcome to the Pack

SayMi Joined the Pack!

A cheerful new SUGR Dawg welcomed by a crowd of canine crewmates.

Welcome to SUGR, SayMi. ❤️

We’re delighted to have you.

Please don’t be alarmed by the button-pushing, possessed owls, attack hippos, unexplained catsup, or the sharks who can’t read.

That’s all normal. Probably.

SUGR News

We’re Taking the South Back

A stylized star map with SUGR paw markers advancing across southern territory.

The Territory map reset, which means it’s time to go retrieve our stuff.

SUGR has already started retaking territory, and this season we plan to rule the south again:

Takeover days and times are on the SUGR calendar, and Discord reminders are already set.

If you’re available, show up. If you’re not sure when we’re going, check the calendar.

If you ask when we’re going while standing directly next to the calendar…

🦈 Please read before becoming a shark.
Alliance Tournament

Well, That Was a Thing

A tournament trophy surrounded by futuristic game rewards and supplies.

Run 1 wrapped up this week.

We appeared to finish around 14th, although things got weird at the end and we’re not treating that placement as carved into stone just yet.

Scopely is still investigating missing Tournament rewards and says another update is coming Monday. The Tournament Store will be extended after the fix.

So for now, we wait and see where everything officially lands with team rewards.

But Wait. There’s More.

Alliance Tournament Run 2 begins Friday, October 9 and runs through October 14.

And because apparently one coordinated alliance event at a time would be unreasonable…

Incursions are October 10.

Yep. They overlap.

Maximum progress. Minimum nonsense.

We’re gonna try, anyway.

Alliance Tournament

Lessons From Run 1

Run 2 is almost here, and we learned some things.

  1. First Things First: ParticipateYou have to participate in the Tournament to receive the team reward at the end. Even if you can’t go hard this round, get in there and contribute. A few points are a whole lot better than zero points — especially when zero means no team reward.
  2. Don’t Waste Your RerollsYou only get so many. Don’t burn them just because a task isn’t your favorite. Save them for tasks you genuinely can’t — or really shouldn’t — do. Any task is better than no task.
  3. FC Skill Points Have a CatchThe Acquire FC Skill Points task requires Command Center upgrade(s). Make sure you’ve actually got an upgrade available before grabbing it.
  4. Look Before You Take Hostile TasksSome of those hostile tasks get grindy as hell, depending on the level and type of hostiles you’re able to hit. Check what it’s asking for before you commit. Nobody gets extra credit for suffering.
  5. Armadas = TeamworkGot Armada or Formation Armada tasks? Work together. For Formation Armada “destroy” tasks, you can get credit for each leg where you have a ship participating. Three legs. Three ships. You see where we’re going with this. Coordinate in AC/Discord and help each other knock those tasks out instead of everybody trying to reinvent the wheel alone.
  6. Don’t Sleep on the StoreThere’s some really good stuff available in the Alliance Tournament Store, including otherwise paid-only Prime Research, ship blueprints, officer shards, artifacts, and more. What has the most value is going to depend on your account. If you’re staring at the store thinking, “Well, shit. What do I buy?” — ask in AC or Discord before you spend. Somebody will help you figure out what makes the most sense for where your account is headed.
  7. The Biggest Lesson? Keep a Task Moving. It doesn’t always have to be the perfect task. Do the thing. Get the points. Grab another one.

Run 2 starts Friday, October 9.

We know more this time. Let’s use it. 🌮

Incursion — Saturday, October 10

Large fleets converging in a dramatic space battle near a bright planet.

SERVER 74 vs SERVER 61

Incursions begin Saturday and run for 24 hours.

Be Moved
By Friday.

MOVE YOUR BASE TO A SAFE SYSTEM.

❌ NOT Territory ❌ NOT a Level 20+ system ✅ Level 19 or lower

Do not wait until Saturday.

Do not wait until somebody starts screaming in Discord.

Do not discover at the last minute that you forgot.

Be Moved By Friday.

We love a little chaos. We do not love avoidable chaos.

🦈 READ THE DAMN THING. THIS IS NOT A SHARK CONVENTION.
Around the Galaxy

Update 95.3

A futuristic orbital installation above a planet.
  • New Kelcie Mae Prime Research increases Kelcie Mae ship parts from the refinery, cutting the stated tier-up time by 50%.
  • Automated Defenses Refit received lower cooldowns and reduced Nexus Prism activation-cost scaling.
  • The official STFC website now has improved search, including integrated STFC.space results.

Congratulations. We can find the confusing thing faster now.

Haven Has Math Now

Research books, diagrams, and a mug on a cluttered planning desk.

Talking Trek brought in Jules Verne for a Haven deep dive covering:

  • Resonance Charge sourcing
  • Which Haven buildings actually matter
  • Building wide vs. tall
  • Quark’s Bar and Alliance Tournament sourcing
  • G6 vs. G7 considerations
  • Whether expensive upgrades are actually worth your stuff

Basically, Haven has been around long enough that we’re leaving the “PUSH THINGS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS” phase and entering the “someone made a spreadsheet” phase.

Nature is healing.

Rev Deuce also has a useful Alliance Tournament Task Map showing which tasks appear in different Ops brackets — handy while Tournament tasks continue doing Tournament-task things.

Server 74 IntelligenceA quiet deep-space listening post and planet.

Quiet week on the S74 news front.

Which is suspicious. But we’ll take it.

NO MAJOR SERVER 74 NEWS TO REPORT.

The Veil

A mysterious hooded figure against a purple cosmic backdrop.

Also quiet.

No major Veil updates from Red or Mon this week.

Everyone remain calm and enjoy this extremely suspicious outbreak of peace.

Coming UpA retro desk calendar and planning tools in a space-station newsroom.

Friday, Oct. 9
Alliance Tournament Run 2 begins; Incursion bases should already be safely parked.

Saturday, Oct. 10
INFINITE INCURSIONS: S74 vs S61.

Wednesday, Oct. 14
Alliance Tournament Run 2 ends.

And somewhere in there
SUGR continues taking the south back.

Check the calendar. Watch Discord reminders. Show up when you can.

Final Bark

Crypt0 went G7.

Kel hit Ops 72.

Red’s Vengeance hit 500B power.

Op and Slip chose violence against every upgrade button they could find.

SayMi joined the Pack!

We’re rebuilding our southern empire.

Alliance Tournaments remain Alliance Tournaments.

And next weekend Scopely would like us to do a Tournament and Incursions simultaneously. Cool. Cool cool cool.

GET YOUR BASE SAFE BY FRIDAY, DAWGS.

Then we do the thing. Get the stuff. And take our damn territory back. 🌮
